The Tar River Mission Clinic is a 501 (c) (3) faith-based, non-profit organization which seeks to promote and improve the health of low income, unisured adults by providing or arranging free health care services and programs.

Our programs include:

  • Free Medical Clinic offerring primary care for chronic disease management

  • Free Laboratory and Radiology Testing for Medical Clinic patients

  • Free Prescription Assistance Programs for Brand and Generic Medications (available to non-clinic patients as well)

  • Free Diabetic and Nutritional Education for Medical Clinic patients

  • Free Diabetic Testing Supplies (available to non-clinic patients as well)

The most common conditions we see patients for include diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, lipids/cholesterol disorders, COPD, asthma and thyroid conditions that respond to medication management.  We do not offer dental care or mental health care. 

All prospective clients are screened for eligibility before they can become a patient and must be willing to provide the clinic reasonable documentation to support the low income status of their household and their uninsured status.  We serve residents of Edgecombe, Nash and Wilson counties.  Our administrative office hours are Monday through Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Our medical clinic staff sees patients Monday through Thursday, 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. and Thursday nights from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  We work by appointment only and do not take "walk-ins".

We are members of the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics, the North Carolina Association of Free Clinics, the North Carolina Center for Non-Profits and the Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce.  We also have our Charitable Solicitation License issued by the North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State.  Contact us for more information.  Tar River Mission Clinic, 1041 Noell Lane, Medical Plaza B, Rocky Mount, North Carolina, 27804, 252-962-3450
